Who we are

This notice covers gildedgroomer.com. It does not cover other websites we link to, including our online booking system and our social media pages, which have their own terms.

What we collect

What you give us. When you book, call, email or write to us about a job, you give us things like your name, phone number, email address, your pet's name and breed, and anything else you choose to tell us about your pet. We need it to do the work and to reach you on the day.

What is collected automatically. Like most websites, ours records ordinary technical information when you visit — the pages you look at, roughly where in the world you are, and what kind of device and browser you used.

Advertising cookies. We use the Meta Pixel, a small piece of code from the company that owns Facebook and Instagram. It tells us how many people arrived from an advert and which pages they looked at, and it lets us show adverts to people who have visited before. It does not tell us who you are by name.

We do not use our website to collect payment details. We have never sold anyone's information, and we are not going to.

Who else sees it

MoeGo runs our booking and client records. When you book online you are on their system, and what you enter there is held by them on our behalf.

Meta receives website activity through the pixel described above, and uses it to measure and target advertising.

We share client information with a vet, or with anyone else, only when you ask us to or when we are required to by law.

How long we keep it

We keep client and pet records for as long as you are a client and for a reasonable period afterwards, because grooming history, coat notes and vaccination dates matter years later. Ask us to delete yours and we will, except where we have to keep something by law.

Your choices

Turn off the advertising cookie. Your browser's privacy settings can block tracking cookies, and Facebook and Instagram both have ad preference settings in your account. Blocking them will not stop you using this site or booking with us.

Ask what we hold. Email or phone us and we will tell you what we have on you and your pet, correct anything wrong, or delete it. There is no charge and you do not need a reason. We may ask a question or two to be sure it is really you.

Depending on where you live you may have formal rights over your personal data, including under Iowa's consumer data protection law. Whatever the law requires of us, the paragraph above is what we will do in practice.

Children

This site is meant for adults booking grooming appointments. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes

If we change how any of this works we will update this page and change the date at the top.
